Abstract

Background: Heritage education constitutes a favorable field for the development of habits, skills, feelings, convictions, attitudes and experiences as part of the pedagogical process in the Bachelor of Preschool Education career.


Objective: To base a proposal of actions, in which the curricular and the extension are integrated, aimed at promoting heritage education in third-year students of the Bachelor of Preschool Education, from the subject Appreciation and artistic production.


Methods: Theoretical methods such as analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive were used, in the same way empirical methods such as student survey, participant observation and interview were applied to identify the main deficiencies in relation to the subject.


Results: The shortcomings and potentialities are determined, which show the limitations of the students in heritage education. To this end, actions linked to the cultural institutions of the territory and to the sites with cultural historical values ​​of the local heritage are proposed through directed visits integrated into the subject Appreciation and artistic production that is taught in the third year of the career.


Conclusions: The implementation of the actions evidenced their viability and the possibilities of achieving positive changes in the personal performance of the students in correspondence with the aspirations of society, as well as their contribution to the understanding of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Camagüey.
