Abstract

It was made study of calf breeding methods in 157 milking farm in Camagüey province belonging to “Triángulo 3” and “Triángulo 5” pecuary interprises at “Camagüey” and “Jimaguayú” municipalities. Surveys were used to identifly limitants and action factors dealing with production systems. Main difficulties were found in pasture methods, type of animal, supplementation, parasitism and in prolongated weaning calf. It suggests training in handling and the use of technology in areas with difficuelties in calf breeding.
