Temporal dependence relationships between variables to reproductive organization and control in dairy systems
Abstract
To determine if the precedence order expected, according to the sequence in time of physiological events that culminates with the birth, in line with the actual situation observed, and investigate the possible existence of others correlations, monthly reproductive data to the companies in the dairy- Camagüey-Jimaguayú were collected. There were used year (1982-2005), month (January-December), post partum cows, inseminated cows, heifers, culled cows, first estrus cows, total estrus cows, pregnant cows, non pregnant cows and total births. It was considered the order of precedence in time, which females should continue to transit through the estrus, artificial insemination service and pregnancy, to achieve the birth of calf, in order to establish three levels: nine months before, six months earlier and the current month. The cross correlation among all variables showed that the order was not strict as the greatest correlation were significant precedents that ranged from zero to 15 months in connection with the births. Based on these results, the precedence order established in practice for the control of reproduction was partially confirmed, the ability to validate the information available and the use those relations of precedence for birth forecasting.
