Information, Knowledge, and Technology Utilization at an Agricultural Enterprise in Camagüey. II. Assessment on Information Management to Improve Technology Introduction into Agriculture
Abstract
Information management and knowledge on agriculture were assessed at an agricultural enterprise in Camagüey, Cuba. Technological monitoring was firstly focused on technologies input through different enterprise ways, i. e., direct information, visitations, surveys, etc. A method and a model were applied to evaluate the enterprise technological capacity and the livestock enterprises innovative intensification, respectively. Validity of the designed procedure to establish the technological monitoring from critical surrounding areas on was confirmed. Twenty-eight new technologies have been introduced into the enterprise already, which means a certain increase compared to the year 2001. Favorable changes in the enterprise technological performance are manifest, proving the managerial and technical potentialities at different executive and productive levels in regards to the assimilation and application of a model other than the one used before 2001. Technology utilization was improved through research and development programs, and information management was transformed towards a higher productive efficiency. Key
