Necessity to mitigate transformations in the habitat of the Area 1 of the historical center of the city of Las Tunas

Abstract

The patrimonial habitat is exposed to constant transformations. If the transformation is inappropriate, a devaluation of the environment is produced. The future interventions need studies in order to produce a compatibility between the formal changes and the protection interests toward their patrimonial, and moral values. At present, it does not exist a knowledge about the architectural patrimony of the Las Tunas city. The houses are a part of a residential complex which acquires value for his conception. There is not a conscience about that. The study zone has a territorial reach of 94 houses, on the Zone 1 of the historic centre of Las Tunas city. It is necessary to present a group of recommendations, in order to mitigate the transformations at this zone. A first approach to a system of design recommendations, is presented; centred in the transformations of the urban image and the necessity of knowing the origins of the environment before undertaking interventions.
