Abstract

Background: It is based on the need to promote from the curricular dimension the environmental culture of professionals in training in the Bachelor of Food Sciences of the University of Camagüey, to promote adequate performance in the prevention, mitigation and solution of environmental problems in the different action contexts.


Objective: To socialize the supports of a curricular strategy to strengthen the environmental training of the students of the Bachelor of Food Sciences, aimed at raising an environmental culture with a focus on sustainability in full integration with the professional and the social in their performance.


Methods: The historical-logical method, the inductive-deductive and the analytical-synthetic method are used from the theoretical level; from the empirical level the documentary analysis, the interview to teachers and from the mathematical-statistical level the percentage analysis, all necessary for the curricular and disciplinary analyzes in order to establish links with this line of training. They also made it possible to assess the results of the diagnosis and their corresponding processing.


Results: An approach to a solid and permanent environmental strategy prepared for the students of the Degree in Food Sciences of the University of Camagüey is presented, directly related to the quality model of the graduate based on the fulfillment of his social order.


Conclusions: The strategy, based on the professional model, integrates all levels of technical and methodological direction, favors the motivation of students and their insertion in professional practice with strengthened environmental values.
