Evaluation of some indicators of the chemical composition of the foliage of Erythrina variegata
Abstract
The purpose of this work was to determine the bromatologic characteristics and the presence of some antinutritive factors in the leaf-stalk of Erithrina variegata. The samples were taken at 30; 60 and 90 days of sproud in three plants located in different places. The results of the bromatologic studies show the levels of dry matter, gross protein and ashes in the plant which were of 17, 78 ± 1,832; 25,31 ± 3,40 and 12,16 ± 1,564 respectively. In the analysis made to different age sprouds there were significant differences concerning the dry matter values, but there were no differences in the ash and gross protein values. On the other hand, significant differences were found in the level of ashes in the places where the samples had been taken. It is in contrast with the levels of dry matter and gross protein. When determining some antinutritional factors, the existence of poliphenols was found as well as the absence of condensed tannins, saponins, alkaloids and cyanogenic compounds. All the analyzed samples lead to the same conclusion.
